Leafing through my old Wayne Dyer books , published around 1986. What do you really want for your children ? The Sky's the Limit Inspired to open this book today, after listening to a set of affirmations modelled on another later Wayne Dyer book titled "Wishes Fulfilled". The speaker affirmed clear intent and the capacity to change one's inner self , echoing my deepest convictions. Infused with a sense of calm and peacefulness , as i try to mentally "osmosize" some of Dyer's rich content while turning pages , glancing at sub titles , nodding at familiar concepts .... Came across a hypothetical letter from a child to a parent, elaborating and thanking them for various lessons learnt. It brings a tear to think of how far from the loftiness this letter , reality often is for many people . Varying degrees across the spectrum. Not without a tinge of sadness , i recollect raising my own children in the UAE , a working mom consumed with busy-ness . Further back , my own periods of loneliness as a child in Kuwait while my parents worked pretty long hours . By-product of culture and circumstance , work was a religion. Work first - boomed my dad constantly. In this positive letter and narrative of gratitude lie many lessons and secrets to the art of raising children lovingly , as you read between the lines . ![]() ...... You never seemed to tire of the beauty around you , and you helped me to become a person who stops to see the beauty in everything and everyone around me. You had no unkind words for anyone , nor do i today. You had no malice in your heart toward anyone , nor do i today. You genuinely enjoyed your mornings , daytimes and evenings - everyone of them , as i recollect. As i do today. When we talked about God , religion or the mysterious in life , you told me the most important words i have ever heard : " If you don't have a temple in your heart , you'll never find your heart in a temple " . Today i have a temple in my heart and i thank you for helping me to put it there. - Appendix - I want my children to someday be able to write this letter , Wayne Dyer , What do you really want for your Children ? The Golden Temple - Japan - on holiday in May 2019 for Len's 60th birthday
