LOVE SOLDIERS ON

​
When the road ahead seems rough  ,  and we feel we’ve had enough , 
We don’t stop to call the universe’s bluff, but instead we soldier on.
 
Expectations back then may have been fewer,  society’s bar set somewhat lower ,
Forbearance and patience no virtues truer, as one soldiered on . 
 
Why lament in self-pity until you are hoarse ?   Exert a little grit and force ,
To your authentic self be true -  no remorse -  the best way  to soldier on.
 
Do you view me as sitting on the fence?   I have to say in my defence,
Not for me to cast the first righteous stone in pretense ,  when I can as well soldier on .
 
Do you feel things swept under the proverbial rug?  I have turned away with a shrug ?
Is living in the past an effective drug ?  when you can heal and soldier on ?
 
Easy to blame and magnify a blunder , easy to discredit and cast asunder , 
But the heart cannot forget many years of wonder ,  and remembering makes it easy to soldier on. 
 
                 Yes it’s possible to cut ties and dissolve,  re-arrange living ,  think you have resolved ,
Possible also to stay and address conflicts involved  ,  intending to soldier on.

After draught comes the rain ,  the biggest  real-eye-zations.html follow pain ,
Benefits and bounty will surely come again ,  when with grace you soldier on.
 
As we glean through imperfection,  the mirror of life reveals our own reflection ,
Sins of silent omission escaped detection … now building accountability ,  we soldier on.
 
Evaluation  a scale and a  spectrum ,   no black and white, no specific dictum, 
Your choice to be leader or victim,  maintain a grateful heart that helps soldier on.
 
I have been one to doggedly persevere ,  my own ship and helm to  steer ,
We don’t turn away , my children  in fear,  but see the gift in crisis and soldier on.
 
The future is always veiled by a curtain ,  often overwhelming and quite a bit uncertain , 
When is it ever crystal clear ?  Who is not a-hurtin ? As they strive to soldier on ? 
 
A myriad of events  homespun ,  the bricks of life have been laid  painstakingly one by one ;
Let’s focus on ninety-eight standing ,  rather than two outdone,  with that vision soldier on.
 
Leave judgement to the Universal Divine ;  intuition ,  empathy try and combine,
Our hearts were created a compassionate shrine, to enable us lovingly soldier on.
